Teaser 4

Old Western Cowboy Town

Can you guess what movie scene is it?

Clue:

1) The movie is a 1952 western production

2) The town Marshall was forced to face a gang of killers by himself

3) The co-star in the movie was Grace Kelly

Our senior citizens should have no problem with the answer.

Hi!

Philip, my Dad, now in his early eighties, is an avid fan of old classic movies.

He has in his collection many movies series, including Dr Fu Manchu, Flash Gordon (Buster Crabbe), Captain Marvel (Tom Tyler) and Tarzan (Johnny Weissmuller).

His favorite Western Cowboy movie actors are Alan Ladd, Audie Murphy, Gary Cooper, Gregory Peck, Gene Autry, Henry Fonda, etc. Other actors include Errol Flynn, Tyrone Powell and Stewart Granger.

"Do not forsake me O my darlin'". This is the theme song of the movie you posted. I have seen this movie a few times. My Dad has a copy of it. Your clues were "dead giveaways", especially the year 1952. Gary Cooper starred as Marshal Will Kane in "High Noon".

Another classic western cowboy movie is "Shane".

Cheers,

Well done, as I expected from our 'lau chiang peh'. Dan the movie titles stated by your dad are very old and I saw all of them. I like Flash Gordon in 'Undersea Kingdom'. Gene Autry acted in 'South of the Boarder' and he sang the song of the same title. I also like Errol Flynn acting in Robin Hood.

"Cowboy n red Indians" type movies my favorite. Some I saw in the 60s were "Magnificent 7" with Marlon Brando, "The Alamo" with John Wayne and Patrick Widmark, Kirk Douglas.

I only heard about 1950 movies from my late father. He wanted to name me after his favorite actor (Gary Cooper the one in the movie who walked with a limp - cant recall the name of the movie though) but my grandfather over-ruled him. But my cousin got his name from his father after Spencer Tracy.

"Shane" was our literature textbook in Sec 1.

In Magnificent 7 the stars are: Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn, James Cobum, Horst Buchholz and Brad Dexter.

I like Shane with Alan Ladd.
