In 1953 the Livingstone Patrol of the 32nd Raffles had a combined picnic with a Girl Scout group. It was arranged by a mutual friend who knew the Scout Mistress. Pasir Ris then was still a semi jungle. The coastal area was full of coconut trees with some clearings. We pitched our tent in one of the open area as shown in the left photo.

Your photos are wonderful. Really brings out the atmosphere of those bygone days. The girls' long skirts and the boys' baggy shorts and the coconut trees. It's a Spore our children will never get to see.
Pasir Ris is so different now. S'pore kids can see the past only in pictures. I shall post another Pasir Ris scene when I return from US in the last week of July.
The lucky guy who got his ears pulled looks like you leh :)
